West Des Moines violinist performing for Paris Fashion Week

Salamone says that she was offered the opportunity to go to Paris after appearing in a fashion show in Santa Fe. She is bringing three of her friends who are also native Iowa businesswomen. Fashion week begins September 30.

One of the compositions Salamone intends to perform is meant to tell the story of indigenous children who were forced to attend school in the United States and Canada.

“Paris Fashion Week is probably the most iconic fashion industry event in the world. It’s just an amazing opportunity to not only be able to perform as a musician on this stage, but also as a as an indigenous woman to perform in a fashion show centered on indigenous fashion,” Salamone said.

Salamone says she was offered the opportunity to go to Paris after taking part in a fashion show in Santa Fe.

She brings along three of her friends who are also native Iowa businesswomen.

Fashion week starts on September 30.
