Spirit Airlines Postpones Shareholder Meeting on Frontier Merger Again
(RTTNews) – Spirit Airlines Inc. (SAVE) has postponed its special meeting of shareholders in connection with the proposed merger agreement with Frontier Group Holdings Inc., until July 15, 2022. Previously, the special meeting was scheduled July 8.
The special meeting has been postponed to allow the board to continue discussions with stakeholders from Spirit, Frontier and JetBlue Airways Corp., Spirit said in a statement Thursday.
This is the third time that Spirit has postponed a vote on its proposed merger with Frontier. Spirit originally scheduled the reunion special for June 10, but rescheduled the reunion for June 30.
Responding to the adjournment of Spirit’s special meeting, JetBlue said Thursday it was encouraged by its discussions with Spirit and hopes they now recognize that Spirit shareholders have indicated their clear and overwhelming preference for a deal with JetBlue.
JetBlue urges Spirit shareholders to continue to let the Spirit Board know that they want to receive the superior value offered by JetBlue, by voting against the Frontier transaction.
