Popular luxury consignment store Real Real opens in Manhasset

Just steps from the Americana Manhasset is The Real Real, a leading luxury consignment company that opened its first physical store in Long Island in early December, which also has a very powerful online presence.

Housed in what was once a funky two-story furniture store, The Real Real looks like a true chic boutique (as it should be) that could rival any of the stores next door. “It’s upscale, stylish and luxurious yet inviting and warm,” said Elyssa Noblesala, the company’s senior director of retail marketing, of the 3,700 square foot space.

Inside, plush sofas and serene paintings form the backdrop for the merchandise (by the way, everything is for sale here, including said sofas) which is a medley of luxury brands across many categories, including brand new women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, sneakers, accessories, fine jewelry, watches, housewares, art and beauty products.

It’s fun to browse the huge selection of expertly authenticated and lightly worn designer brands in great condition (yes, the Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, and Louboutin you’ve long coveted are here) largely at significantly lower priced than new, as well as hard to find items from past seasons.

And if you plan to clear out your wardrobe, purse collection, or jewelry box and make money faster, in-person consignment appointments are offered along with free jewelry appraisals, too. watches and handbags by experts.

Beyond the thrill of shopping and selling, there is more than a little feel-good to the whole concept of consignment. “For us, the circular economy is an essential pillar,” says Noblesala. “You can give your items a second life with your recipient and keep them out of landfill. We contribute to a more sustainable environment. “

The Real Real is located at 1900 Northern Blvd., in Manhasset. The opening hours of the store are Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 631-310-4441, therealreal.com.
