Lucid Motors opens its first outlet in Scottsdale Fashion Square

Lucid Motors, the manufacturer of luxury electric vehicles, is about to open its first point of sale in Arizona. The manufacturing plant is located in Casa Grande.

People can take a look at the Lucid Air in their first studio in Scottsdale Fashion Square.

“So we have a car the size of a mid-size luxury vehicle, maybe a Mercedes E-class, but the interior is the size of a long-wheelbase luxury car,” Zak Edson said, Senior Director of Retail Operations at Lucid.

It’s a different car buying experience at Lucid Studio. There is no concession, no test drive, but there are mockups and a virtual reality presentation.

Customers get a virtual idea of the luxury electric vehicle, testing the colors and functionality.

There are two chests, one in the front and one in the back. And the engine is hidden at the back of the car.

“There is a second level here. So you can also have important luggage in the front of the vehicle. So instead of having a big engine occupying the front of the vehicle and a large transmission, this is of the engine, transmission and electronics to power the engine, ”said Edson.

The car operates at over 900 volts.

“This is one of the battery modules. There are 22 of these modules packed low in the vehicle,” Edson said.

The price ranges from $ 77,000 to $ 139,000 depending on the specs.

Lucid Motors hopes to attract customers from Mercedes Benz and BMW.

“We have high performance, we have a very long range, you can go over 500 miles with a single charge in the car. The performance from zero to 60 is exceptional, in 2.5 seconds from 0 to 60”, he said. Edson said.

Lucid expects its first fleet to be delivered to customers and on the road later this year.

Lucid will open his studio to the public for the first time on Saturday August 7th. There will be a ribbon cutting in the new studio, located on the second floor inside the mall, next to Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The studio will be open during shopping center hours, seven days a week.
