Hollister has launched a new feature on its mobile app that allows customers to share their digital shopping cart with their shopper, such as a parent or grandparent, who can then complete the purchase.

A division of Abercrombie & Fitch Co, the brand said the Share2Pay payment option aims to bridge the gap between how teenagers buy and how their parents, for example, pay.

The feature is available to all Hollister mobile app users in the US and UK.

The move follows Hollister research that found most teenage shoppers don’t hold buying power and their online shopping carts sit dormant until they’re in the same space. physical than the payer.

A trial and soft launch of the technology earlier this year found that customers who shared their bag through Share2Pay were placing orders at almost twice the rate of other customers.

Samir Desai, Chief Digital and Technology Officer of A&F Co., said, “Hollister has been at the forefront of creating seamless shopping for our teenage customers and we’re thrilled to officially add a new payment functionality to our suite of tools. By listening to our customers and understanding the dynamic between buyer and wearer, we discovered a way to reduce friction.

“Introducing new patent-pending technology like Share2Pay allows us to make shopping easier for teens and parents. I’m incredibly proud of the all-in-house team who dreamed up and developed this new payment solution, which “, we believe will optimize the experience for our teens, while converting more mobile purchases. In keeping with our test and learn culture, we will continue to listen to feedback and iterate on this innovative technology.”

To use the new payment option, Hollister mobile app shoppers add the products of their choice to their cart. When ready to pay, the buyer can select Share2Pay and a link is sent to the buyer via SMS. The shopper then clicks the link and the products are added to the Hollister cart in the shopper’s mobile app, where they can view the items and pay.

The feature also allows the shopper to change the size or color of items and add or remove products before checking out.
