It’s Emmy night! The Primetime Emmys mark one of TV’s biggest nights and always bring out A + fashion. So who dressed best and whose looks fell flat? Wonderwall.com brings together the best and least dressed stars of the night! The first one standing? One of our favorite looks from Anya Taylor-Joy’s night out! The star arrived in a stunning Christian Dior look at the Emmy party. The beauty’s champagne-hued gown was stunning on its own, but when paired with this over-the-top golden shawl (with a train!), She took this ensemble to the next level. We’re going to need to see this one from several angles …
Read on for more successes and failures of the nightâ¦
The first one standing? A look at Anya Taylor-Joy’s dreamy Christian Dior combo from behind! Her statement shawl featured a perfect circular train which made a red carpet moment to remember. Now let’s take a closer look …
Anya Taylor-Joy’s champagne halter style dress was entirely backless, so posing this way with the shawl was a great move to show off all the beauty of this dress.
Anya Taylor-Joy completed her bold and gorgeous Emmy look with a glamorous updo, a bold red lip, and diamond earrings.
When it came time to pick out a dress for the Emmys, contestant Elizabeth Olsen kept it in the family! The star donned this white dress from her sisters’ line, The Row, for the big occasion. And while we loved the sweet family connection, we were hoping for more from the dress, which included three-quarter sleeves and a neckline. Despite the dull dress, she stepped things up when it came time to add some jewelryâ¦
Elizabeth Olsen’s The Row dress might have disappointed, but check out these stunning earrings! The actress rocked these phenomenal Chopard diamond earrings at the Emmy party.
Sarah Paulson is a fashion staple, so it’s no surprise that we loved her Carolina Herrera ball gown. The rose-red tailoring featured statement sleeves that flowed to a three-quarter length, a plunging neckline, and a full-length skirt to the floor. And she wasn’t the only star sporting a cheerful red Carolina Herrera designâ¦
Mandy Moore also dealt Carolina Herrera a serious blow! The actress’ choice included spaghetti straps, a fitted bodice and a loose ruffled tulle skirt for a romantic and memorable fashion moment on the red carpet.
We weren’t crazy about Cynthia Erivo’s Louis Vuitton selection. The star’s sleeveless white dress started off strong – with a simple bodice with a belt detail that flowed into a fitted skirt – but got lost when that skirt gave way to a disaster with bright blue, teal and blue feathers. money. Despite the disappointing dress, Cynthia delivered when it came time to add jewelry …
Cynthia Erivo added some stunning Roberto Coin jewelry to the mix. The gorgeous choker necklace and solid diamond ring added just the right amount of sparkle to her Emmys ensemble.
Keri Russell’s gorgeous Zuhair Murad dress featured amazing embellishments, a plunging neckline, a center slit and most notably a stunning cape-shaped detail with feather trim.
We usually adore Angela Bassett’s bold fashion choices, but this one missed the mark. Her black and pink Greta Constantine design involved a cool color combo, but that exaggerated pink ruffle was just too overwhelming to focus on anything else.
Catherine O’Hara was a vision in red! The âSchitt’s Creekâ star sported this Cong Tri design – a one-shoulder blouse with a dramatic train that flowed into wide-leg pants in the same bold hue for a memorable red carpet moment.
Bowen Yang has certainly arrived in style! The funny guy showed up in this stylish Zegna tuxedo and really spiced things up when it came time to accessorize. Let’s take a closer look …
Bowen Yang added some bling to his Zegna tuxedo with a cool star shaped brooch from Tiffany and Co. And when it came time to add shoes, he went with an unexpected choiceâ¦
Check out these shoes! Bowen Yang opted for dizzying silver platform boots to go with his Zegna tuxedo. We loved this fun and surprising addition.
Daniel Levy always makes us guess on the red carpet, so we weren’t surprised to see him in this unique Valentino issue. The funny guy’s look from âSchitt’s Creekâ included a wrap blazer with a waist tie, slacks, and a dress shirt, all in a bold shade of blue. He kept it simple with accessories, selecting chunky black boots and his iconic black rimmed glasses to complete his ensemble.
Michaela Coel also rocked neon yellow at the Emmy party. The star chose these Christopher John Rogers coordinates – a strapless cropped top and fitted skirt. Although pretty from the front, this look was even better from the back …
Gorgeous! Michaela Coel’s top included a chunky tie detail along the back, which gave this look an extra layer of drama as it provided a dramatic train.
Nope! Madeline Brewer’s brown Tom Ford dress was already underwhelming, but when paired with those electric blue heels, this look has totally lost us.
Yara Shahidi looked gorgeous in green on the Emmy red carpet! The star’s stunning Dior dress featured an off-the-shoulder detail and a full skirt, which showcased her brown Christian Louboutin point-toe pumps. And when it came to adding jewelry, Yara spared no expense …
Yara Shahidi accessorized her fabulous green Dior dress with this stunning Cartier necklace. The estimated retail value of this gold accessory? One million dollars!
Another star who looked lovely in Dior? Jurnee Smollett, who wore this romantic strapless ruffle tailoring with a ruffled ruffle skirt to the Emmy party. Equally stellar? Her style choices – a sleek bun, a diamond necklace, and a dramatic dark lip.
Do you miss Coachella? Aidy Bryant arrived in an outfit and flower crown worthy of a music festival! The star’s olive green Simone Rocha dress looked lovely – check out the floral embellishments! – but the length and accessories made it a little too casual for the Emmy night.
You look dapper, Kenan Thompson! The “Saturday Night Live” star arrived in one of the most beautiful tuxedos of the night – this hot pink number. He added even more pink to the mix with his darling pink bow tie, which matched the lapels of his tuxedo perfectly, then finished off with black dress shoes.
Jennifer Coolidge kept things classy and sophisticated in navy blue! The star’s Christian Siriano dress featured a chic cape detail and a fitted silhouette for maximum Emmy nighttime glamor.
The men really stepped up their efforts at the Primetime Emmys this year! Josh O’Connor arrived in this custom tuxedo from Loewe. And when it came time to add a tie, the star of “The Crown” opted for an unconventional choice …
We loved Josh O’Connor’s unique accessory selection! He added a bolo style tie embellished with fabric flowers to his custom Loewe suit for an unexpected addition that stood out on the red carpet.
We weren’t crazy about Beanie Feldstein’s sparkling Brandon Maxwell dress. While the salmon hue is pretty, the short sleeves, sash detail, and midi length make this dress too casual for such a big night out. While not liking her choice of outfit, we enjoyed these metallic open-toe Christian Louboutins.
From the teal hue to the rich velvet fabric, we loved Jason Sudeikis’ Emmy outfit choice. His standout tuxedo was by Tom Ford, and he accessorized it aptly with a classic black bow tie and black boots.
Jean Smart kept things classy in Ralph Lauren at the Emmy party. The star’s black dress featured a stand-up collar, sheer long sleeves and a floor-length silhouette, all of which was a sober, yet classically glamorous fashion moment.
The very elegant Tracee Ellis Ross selected this red Valentino design at the Emmy party. Although the shade is pretty – and very popular that night! – the one-shoulder and otherwise simple silhouette was surprisingly understated coming from the fashionista.
Snore! Rita Wilson didn’t dress to impress at the Emmys. The star appeared in this dull Tom Ford outfit – a blazer, sequined top and pants – and seriously disappointed.
Cecily Strong made a serious fashion statement in a black dress that was anything but boring. Her sleek, long-sleeved gown featured a plunging neckline, thigh-high slit, and a subtle train that amounted to the perfect amount of drama.
Pretty in purple! Nicole Byer wowed in this phenomenal purple ball gown. The unexpected off-the-shoulder neckline, ruffled tulle trim and stunning full skirt helped cement this look as a dream hit.
Karamo Brown kept things super classic in this gorgeous red carpet velvet tuxedo. He teamed the ensemble with a bow tie and heeled dress shoes for the perfect Emmy look.
