Dutch retail turnover up 3% in August 2021: Statistics Netherlands
Retail turnover data has been adjusted to reflect changes in the pattern of shopping days. Retail sales tend to vary from day to day. Excluding the buying days model, retail turnover in August 2021 was 1.9% higher than the same month last year, CBS said in a report. Press release.
Sales volume in the non-food sector (adjusted for price changes) increased 4.2 percent in August compared to the same month last year. Compared with August 2019, the turnover of non-food stores increased by almost 15% in August 2021.
The Dutch retail sector saw 3% year-over-year revenue growth in August, according to Statistics Netherlands, which recently said sales volume increased by 1.9%. The growth was 13.4% higher than in August 2019. The non-food sector turnover increased by 6.3% and the online retail turnover increased by 10, 2 percent.
In August, the turnover of stores selling clothing, shoes and leather goods was also higher than in August 2019.
Online revenue for clothing and fashion items, food and personal care products, and other non-food products was higher in August 2021 than in the same month last year.
